✓ 15 years professional marketing and communications experience
✓ Integrated in North Carolina’s local agriculture and food communities
✓ Always daydreaming about my next meal
Do you ever call a friend just to discuss the best meals you’ve eaten lately? To put it simply: I love talking about food.
Since creating my consulting business in 2019, it has been my true joy to work with restaurants, bars, farms, universities—and even a pottery company—to tell their food stories and help more interested customers find their products. Whether here in NC or further afield, I would be delighted to get to know you and your business.
My Background
I found my place in the local food community in North Carolina while leading a sustainable agriculture farm business in Durham for four years. As is true of many local businesses, it was a small team and each person held many roles. I managed marketing and communications, curated a selection of local products, created a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership program, and built sales relationships with local restaurants and groceries.
The numbers tell part of the story of running this small business: we gained 8,000 new followers on social media, increased revenue from $125,000 to $340,000 and subscribed 120 CSA members.
The remainder of the story is about the community we built. As a team, we transformed a farm into a well-known community hub for local food. We elevated lesser-known foods like the native pawpaw into the local conversation.
Along with marketing expertise and local food relationships, I bring seven years of experience directing communications and outreach for Duke University’s Office of Sustainability. I earned a B.S. with Summa Cum Laude distinction from American University in 2009.
